Data sources and coverage

A source is only connected when an authorized collector successfully sends data. Listing a platform here does not imply that its API is connected or that its full dataset is available.

How Google Trends data arrives

  1. google_trends_live.py collects the Trending Now feed.
  2. google_trends.sqlite stores each collection locally.
  3. python/upload_google_trends.py sends the newest snapshot to POST /api/public/ingest-trends.
  4. The database stores it; the signed-in Radar dashboard displays it.

Google Trends measures search interest, not social-media engagement or sales. A limited feed of search trends for a selected search market. Traffic values such as “500+” are approximate lower bounds. Repeated feed snapshots are observations, not additional searches. An item leaving the feed does not mean interest has fallen to zero.

TikTok · Public hashtag preview (live)

The logged-out Creative Center hashtag preview for the UK, Germany and the US, collected without any account or login. A small, incomplete sample; posts and views are approximate and views are not unique people. Labelled “Public website preview”.

TikTok · API for Business hashtag discovery (awaiting approval)

Aggregate hashtag lists from the official Business API, starting with the UK, Germany and the US. Switched off until access is approved and the returned fields are verified. Read how TrendFalcon uses TikTok data.

The TikTok Commercial Content API, Instagram and Facebook are not active sources. Data may be delayed, incomplete, approximate or unavailable, and trend predictions are never guaranteed.

Instagram · Approved queries

Future observations may cover supplied hashtag queries and other data available under the account’s approved access. A query sample must not be interpreted as a ranking of all Instagram trends.

Facebook · Managed Pages

The current collection scaffold targets specified managed Pages with the required access. It cannot identify Facebook-wide hashtag trends or inspect private groups.

Times, geography and missing values

Publication time, collection time and upload time remain separate. Search market, advertisement delivery country, language and audience location describe different facts. Missing values remain missing; zero is displayed only when the source actually supplies zero.

Preview data

The optional browser demo is synthetic and clearly labelled. Its notes and watchlist are stored separately in your browser and are never uploaded into a live research workspace.
